Hey guys, Ive got an 04 w/24k miles well maintained. But i've got this pretty faint "ticking" sound that is slightly intermittent (its almost constant). Its so faint that once the revs get going its hard to hear but at idle, more so when warm you can make it out. Clutch in clutch out makes no difference. My thoughts were the dreaded CCT.... ?? Thoughts?? How tough is it to replace?? Ive heard of the manual CCTs but never seen one in action. Thanks for any feedback

CCT isn't terribly hard to install yourself and there is an excellent thread with pics on the other VFR owners site (Link Below)

Based on what you describe I personally don't think there is much to worry about. My bike also has a very slight ticking sound and most of my friends who own VFR's report the same thing. Unless it progressively starts getting worst or starts sounding more clunky I would say ride it as is.

I think the slight ticking is very common. My bike with 1800 miles has the same noise. If it worries you so much may be go with a different brand/viscosity oil and see if it helps!!.
