I just bought a 2005 VFR 800 and I am extremely impressed by it ,I think I might love it more than I do my girlfriend.

My only issue with the bike is that when I put it on its side stand the bike is still almost upright, I have been putting it on the center stand where ever I park but I cant do that for ever so I was just wondering at what angle the bike should stand at and if you guys have any recommendations to make the bike more stable when parking.

Hmmmm, sounds unusual as Honda's are pretty damn good for fit/finish, and consistent parts location placement. Do you think it may have been dropped by the previous owner and consequently had the stand bent back?
Just food for thought but in lieu of it tipping over in a breeze, maybe you can find a replacement at a wrecker...

The rear suspension might have been lowered by the previous owner. This would make the bike stand more vertical on the side stand.

+1 i flipped my triangles on mine, and my rear end sits about an inch lower.
this in turn has my my bike almost vertical when on the side stand. you can get shortened side stands from here:

    2002 - 2009 Honda VFR 800 Interceptor Modification Page

ive been thinking about getting one for mine.
kinda hard for me to spend money on parts that dont make the bike faster though... guess im a bit of a squid... lol:tongue:

ps you might have either an aftermarket dog-bone (which would be longer?) or your triangle plates have been rotated 120*...
kinda hard to tell with out a stock vfr near by for comparison...
