The "limited" adjustment is relative to you and your spring rate. Every shock/fork that has a preload adjuster should give you adequate range of adjustment unless the spring is too hard or too soft. If you hit the limit on either end of the adjustment range, you most likely need to change the spring rate to match your body/riding weight. The best way to ensure you get the right spring rate is to weigh yourself with all of your gear on, or for some, with what they typically wear when riding. Since this can vary depending on the gear, as some gear can weight quite a bit when added up, i.e. Leathers, helmet, boots, gloves, etc., getting an average would be OK IMO.

Most street sag settings are 35mm front and rear, but track and sport settings can be as low as 25mm F/R. When making adjustments, I typically back the adjustment all the way out (most sag) and go in form there. If you cannot get any sag at that setting, your spring rate is too high, if you go to the other extreme and you still have too much sag, then your spring rate is too low. Although you can do this yourself, it is much easier with a helper.

    I hope this helps.

    Cheers
