I'm still waiting to get my 1992 VFR but I am looking for seats such as a corbin or a sargent but all i can find used is one for a 4th gen, is there any way to mod the bike to support a 4th gen seat?

You might find one. Hard to say for sure.. Best bet? Mod the stocker. Unless you are 500 miles from nowhere any auto upholstry or even a furniture upholstery shop can do a bike seat. Corbins and Sargents are OK but the quality has been determined by the bean counters.

    Incoming!! LOL

Never did figure out all that "generation" stuff. IMO that's bogus. If any company makes a bike or a car exactly like a two or three year old model with zero changes it's rare. Even Harley-Davidson doesn't do dumbshit stuff like that.

What you maybe wanna do is see if the part # on your current bike matches the part # of the "generaton" in question.

A better overview of seats can be seen by doing a Google on Rich's Seats near Seattle. All sorts of seats and bikes. All custom to fit the rider's style, and buns. I was gonna say the rider's "anthropomorphic configuation" but it's hell to spell.

In the "vintage" section there is a shot of my BMW. Done almost 20 years ago. Leather and still holding.. Same deal on my 91 mach 1. Not leather but about 15 years old.

Back then even before the bean counters took over, you could send in a seat pan and they would tailor a seat. After three tries with that same BMW, the last "seat" being held together with drywall screws, I am not a big fan of Corbin.

You'll have of take what Tink says with a grain of salt. He agrees with me all the time and on every subject. :)

One of the last pages of the 5th gen thread in my signature will get you info. I went full tilt and spent as much as a Corbin etc, but you can do less drastic modifications for less.

My nickname is rubber-stamp, or tramp-stamp, or something.
