I have to say thanks to all those who unknowingly helped me change my sprockets and chain.

I'm not very mechanicly gifted but with the help of the search option I was able to do this mod on my own(even when I ran into some unexpected problems).

I found a thread on sprocket/chain replacement with pictures that was very helpfull. However, when I was removing the sprocket cover I didn't use enough caution and clutch slave cylinder separated from the cover and spilled dot 4 all over the ground. Great now I have to bleed the clutch. I've never tried to bleed the clutch or brakes on anything before. So I do another quick search to find the answers.

While bleeding clutch I cant get all the air out of the lines so...another quick search and I find air likes to hide in the slave cylinder and the banjo bolts. I follow the directions on the thread and in no time at all problem fixed.

Now my bike shifts better and the new sprockets and chain are bada$$. If you ride a lot in town I highly recomend new gearing... With all the torque now I rarely have to down shift in town. I went -1/+2.

Anyway this is a great site. Thanks to all the make it happen!
    :cheersaf:

Its great that you actually looked instead of a Help me post! I know most times trying to search for a topic is a major pain. Glad you found what you needed and back on the road!

doing things yourself is much more rewarding than just heading for the shop and letting someone else do it(cost a lot cheaper too!). glad you had it solved and running better.

glad the search function worked for someone. it can be such a headache sometimes because it is hard to narrow it down to just display what you need.

You are correct sir the search function does indeed ROCK. Like you I prefer working on my own bike. Dont always have the time, but I prefer it because I know exactly what was done which somehow is comforting at high speeds.

Good for you. That's how a lot of us got started tinkering. I do all my own work. I don't trust someone else to do it right. Been let down to many times. Plus getting to know your bike helps if something goes wrong on a trip. If you really want to learn buy a FACTORY manual and go thru it. This whole site rocks.
