I recently purchased an 86 vfr700, and was told by the previous owner it has a bad scissors gear. I never heard of scissors gear before, could someone explain to me what the scissors gear is and where it is located. Thanks

Could he have meant the shift fork? I've never heard of the "scissors gear" either.

I've heard some folks using that term, but never followed up on what they meant, I'm thinking along the same lines as the forks and sliders.
