I know the seller. I bought a bunch of parts from him a bit over a year ago.

    What a gorgeous bike.

I love how these RC15's ride.

    Very nice restoration work!

Always throws me when I see non-green coolant in a classic Honda. I did in one of my bikes once and just couldn't take it.

    Damn nice bike.

seems crazy ridiculous price for an aged antique not up to modern standards. honda made improvements within a few years, and better, newer bikes cost less $$$.

fair price for a museum collection maybe

of course, sf is an entirely different world.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

for example, 4th gen vfrs are a great buy at normal going prices now imo without any pretences. i like its simplicity and balance of qualities, unlike later models.

sm, that VFR is 30 YEARS OLD now. It's all relative at this point.

And the point is, many buyers want the one that changed motorcycling and the one they had, or wanted, when they were growing up. It's not about evolution or refinement in that market.

Fairly ratty (in my opinion) VF1000Rs are going for 9 - 10K now... easy. I'm not sure if the bottom will fall out of this, but it seems it is the new reality on some models for now. People that grew up in that era that want THAT bike, are older and have money. Hence the price creep.

Don't get me wrong, I think the RC36-II is mechanically the pinnacle of a sporting VFR-F. I personally like the styling, but for everyone else the RC36-I hits the sweet spot. Which that hits a sweet spot for me too. It's why I own both.

That bike is in really fine shape, a lot better than mine. The fact that it still has the stock exhaust is a miracle, as the mufflers and collectors rust out fairly easy. IMG_0064.JPG
Mine is an 83 with 84 body work. Would like to find a home for it, a lot of new parts and powder coating, but has been sitting too long. In the East Bay, CA.

Very nice … you have some juicy parts on there. The oil cooler is awesome.
Probably get some takers if you post a price.

Wow - what a beauty! Is it still in that condition? And do you have one or two Kerkers? Thanks!

I have Vance and Hines pipes (recoated) with two Kerker slipon muflers, on is scraped up from an accident, I turned it around and remounted a new name plate. I had them polished.
