So bill for spring, need new tires (have some Meztler Sportec M3's), new chain and sprockets, and new brakes. oh well, time to enjoy winter with some nice scotch and such.
I feel ya bro! I was itching to ride today too but then this happened, Dang, all her clothes fell off! Oh but check out the 2012 R1200GS I picked up yesterday in Jersey!
crashburn, 12c is 53f get on your bike and ride. With todays gear and equipment it is possible to ride safely unless ice is present.
I feel your pain my friend...... Been itching to ride something fierce too Jethro but all her clothes fell off nearly 4 1/2 years ago and I still haven't been able to get her dressed. :lol: Damn I miss riding this bike. :blue:

Heavens. That is horrible shit right there. I hear your sorrow though. I have some work to be done on mine over the winter too, but I just bought the insurance for the year. There is more riding to be done. My repairs are not enough to keep me off the road. I don't think I have ever come really that close to chain failure. My last one was doing a little clicking and clacking due to a kinked link but it was still ride-able. I have been caught in -10C and that is damned cold regardless of the gear you have. Did not go out for leisurely rides in those temps but did commute in them. Got caught in a sudden heavy snow fall on our freeway here too, a few years back. Now that made my ass pucker up and bite a hole in my seat, it did. Had to nurse it along a few miles of wet snow covered freeway, then a few more miles along snow covered side roads until I found a gas bar to park the bike at for the day. Bike slipped out from under me in the parking lot but no damage at all from that drop. Had to call for one of my teams to come get me to bring me the rest of the way to work. Ohhh... the fond memories of working life.
If you don't get that bitch finished, you are going to have to rig it for a side car because you will be too old! We are still a little away from the 333 on the militia thread Stosh, but I am watching. Guess it needs a bump.

Was 78 here yesterday and I went for a 150 mile ride in the twisties once the wind died down. :congratulatory:
Jethro, I have a buddy that rides one of those big GS's and he is always towards the front of the pack when we have R3. He has no trouble keeping up and/or passing anyone on the ride. And he does it in comfort. Never seems to even get out of the seat. It's funny to watch.
Stupid question... are my Sportec M3's totally old? I only see M8's on website.. In my 20+ years of motorcycling, I've only ever had Dunlops, yet most on VFR sites seem to hate the Dunlop Sport-Touring tires, are those Michelin PR3's that much better?
Hey Jethro, congrats on the GS, nice choice. Up for a little tour this weekend? Shouldn't be too bad, we're only supposed to get an inch or so.
