I never store any of my engine powered stuff dry. Fill with non ethanol gas, fog the cylinders, set the battery on a maintainer and the bike will be good to go in the Spring time. Been doing this for thirty five years. Have a chainsaw that I bought in 1985 and I still use it today.

when I had a carb motorcycle, I would fill it full with good gas, non-ethanol, with sta-bil or seafoam. let it run for a few minutes, shut the petcock off, open the choke wide open, let it run until it died. Never had an issue. with a FI bike, and later, I didn't use stabilizer, and never had any issues. Been doing this for 20+ years without stabilizer.
