Finally got around to checking on a coolant leak near the triple tree. On very cold days I would see a wisp of steam as I backed into my parking spot. Looks like the turkeys who did the first service left the radiator cap loose. SO that bullet was dodged, but wile removing the lower inner faring the space between the radiator and the screen had a bunch of rocks in it. DOT in my area has started resurfacing roads with rock chips followed by a layer of tar. Chip and Seal? Anyway it is the chipped up rocks that were lodged in that space. I don't like the idea of rocks vibrating against my radiator. Any solutions or similar situations?

    Thanks,
    Bill

    You'll have that.

That's not surprising Bill. Have you ever removed your gas tank, airbox ,and throttle bodies and looked down in the Vee space between the cylinder banks? You'd be surprised at what you'll find there. There's always pea gravel, dead bugs, and various tiny bits of road debris sitting down in that Vee space. During winter maintenance I make a point to clean all that crap out of there.

Most, but not all,of that crap is flicked up by the front wheel. So in an effort to help cut down on the amount road debris that's getting kicked up in there I'm installing a Powerbronze fender extender on the front fender of my '03 VFR800.

Another reason it scares me to death to take my bike to a shop.
