The API has a new designation in the donut since last fall. When I browsed the oil aisle at Wally World, Royal Purple now has this designation: Resource Conserving.

Many other oils that I would have considered also have added this phrase to the label. Methinks this sounds a bit too much like "Energy Conserving".

I did make the effort to google the info, but I came up with results like this

    http://www.api.org/certifications/engineoil/new/upload/1509techbull1complete.pdf

Fine. Straight from the horse's mouth. But, I couldn't find the Babblefish translator for this technospeak.

So I leave it to you. Thumbs up or thumbs down on Resource Conserving oil?

    Thanks!

Might be fun to hand that to a service manager at a Harley dealer and ask him what he thinks about it.
