    Hello Group,

My Tach lights have blown out on my 95. wanted to know if this is a easy fix to replace bulbs, or will it be better to take in. If it is a at home fix please list the steps.

    Thanks,

    Thomas

I'm not sure on the 4th gens, but on the 5th gens its a matter of removing the upper cowl then unbolt the cluster from the mounting bracket R&R the bulb and put it back together.

The worst part was waiting a week and a half for the bulbs from Honda.

Kind of a pain but not that bad if you're patient. Per the manual:

    1. Remove Middle Fairing (the side panels)
    2. Remove Lower Center Fairing
    3. Remove Upper Fairing (the nose cowl and windshield)
    4. Replace the bulbs.
    5. Replace the Fairings.

Relevant pages of the Service Manual are attached. The manual is well worth having.

    ^^^What Slothrop said^^^

If you are even a casual wrench, save your money. It looks like a lot of fasteners in that thrid frame, but it's not bad at all. Thos windshield gromets, mirror seals and mirror plates are likely to stick rightin place after 14 years. Just be sure you make all your elecrical disconnects like the drawing and undo the harness clips so you're not pulling stuff appart.
While you're in there (IMHO), get some contact cleaner and dielectric grease to clean and lube all your connections. If I were to do it all over again, I'd still have my '95, but would have greased all the connectors as soon as I brought her home and repeated that exercise about every 12 or 24 months.

    Hello Group,
I just want to thank the group for all the helpful responses. With the great support and advice that is given, it would be extremely difficult to consider any other bike. Again thank you so much.

Some of them can be reached without removing fairings; but if the upper left tach light is out, you're sunk.
