I've been breaking my head over this for a few hours. The repair Manual simply says remove driven flange assembly. Thats it. What Am I missing? I followed all the instructions, 46 mm nut is off.

you got a shot-filled hammer? try bopping the assembly a few times. Your gona have to press in new bearing btw. I have the all the parts but never went thru with it as there is no slop in my rear hub. Good luck, nice picutes too

There is a washer there that needs to be removed, hope this helps...

I tried bashing it in with a loaded hammer. It won't budge. I can't get a good enough angle because the disk brake is in the way. I managed to move it a little by jamming some wood in there. Should I take it to a professional?

Only thing is, how do you use it, there's no leverage because its hollow.

Maybe a standard gear puller mounted through two of the bolt holes for the rear sprocket. Pushing against the axle nut threaded 3/4 of the way on the axle. Sprocket holes are aluminum so don't add much force. Snug it up and wait. Add a half turn and wait again. Keep this up until she pops. But don't break the sprocket mounts!

.........Oh, wait just got another idea! Mount an old sprocket and attach the puller to the sprocket, that way you will put less pressure on each mount and spread it over all six mounts.

Thread the nut partially back on so you don't screw up the threads and use some metal object over the nut to cover the hollow opening.

Use very little pressure and let it sit. Come back later and add a little more pressure. Murphy's law says it will not come off while you are watching! You will hear a noise in the middle of the night and think someone is in your garage. You will go to check it out and find the puller laying on the floor!

Now that you have it apart, what are you planning to do?

    Replace the bearing?
    Clean and Paint?
    Clean and Powder Coat?
Go for a single nut conversion?
