I received a recall notice from Honda this week. Apparently, some of the 2002-2005 Interceptors have a problem w/the ground wire terminals. The inside connector between the main wiring harness and fairing sub-harness can overheat and melt the connector, resulting in a power loss. Then, you crash. If you're riding at night and this happens, your light goes out and you crash in the dark.
They don't have a solution yet, but they're working on a replacement part.
I posted this in case you're not the first owner of your Interceptor, and didn't get a letter from Honda.

There are a couple other threads on this, including information on how to fix it yourself, and how Honda has been fixing it for the past few years.

I got the same letter for my '04. Hope they get their act together - only a couple of weeks until Biketoberfest...

The dealer called me this week and said that he doesn't have a replacement part, and honda couldn't tell him very much about the recall.
I bought my bike used, and the previous owner installed a 30mA fuse w/heavy gauge wire near the battery. I think he already knew about this problem and corrected it himself. My buddy's '03 Interceptor has the same fix.

This recall is for the ground wire at the blue connector, which is a separate issue from the 30 amp main fuse. I would recommend you check and see if the ground wire fix was done also.
