so my vf500 has been tore apart all winter and I am in the process of reassembly. I put the rear wheel/axle on and realized there is nothing really locating the rear wheel in the middle except the brake caliper/pads. I just found it wierd that there were no spacers or anything but I cant find anything in my piles of parts. could anyone instill some wisdom on the situation?

You are definitely missing a part.

There is a spacer (part no. 6 in the drawing above) that is placed on the rotor side of the wheel.

Yea....you need the 2 spacers (1 on each side of the wheel) the chain adjusters the caliper bracket and the axle nut.

well I have those spacers they actually fit in each end of the wheel but there just seems like there is still way too much room. I haven't installed the caliper bracket yet but I guess maybe thats all there is supposed to be. I'll let you know once I install the bracket.
