Can you put a 190 on the rear of a 06 with out having to change anything ? and if you can is there anything to gain from going to a larger size rear tire? thanks..

I would say that most bikes you can go up 10mm (to sometimes 20 or more) without a clearance problem. I know that somebody asked this question awhile back and said he was going to do it, but I do not know if he did.

Shouldn't be that big of a deal, maybe slightly slower turn in/handling because it is wider and also heavier. Mostly I would have to wonder is why? The VFR is no horsepower king, and 180 is plenty wide. I say keep the 180 on her.

if you are getting a better deal on the 190 then go ahead otherwise, I don't think it's gonna make a huge difference. they say slower turn in which I wouldn't want, but I've never put the wider tire on so I can't say if I could feel it...

Yes, it will be a slower turn in because you have more tire contact patch, at least when riding upright. The reason is that you have a wider patch of tire to cross before getting to the edges. That is in laymans terms by the way. lol

Not necessarily true depending on the tires' construction. The contact patch can be smaller off center due to the tire being pinched tighter to fit the smaller rim width. Also, you'll never get to the edge before losing clearance.

Thanks for the info guys. I like the look of the wider tire, and i was getting a pretty good deal on one. But if it does nothing to help the ride and makes it slower in the turns then i'll stick with the 180... Again, thanks for the info ..
