Hello, Just bought my 03 a few months ago and its got 5,500 miles on it and its got a noise that is bothering me and wondered if its a common thing. If I just walk up to the bike and take it off its side stand and sit on it it creaks. I can put it back on the sidestand and push and pull the rear end up and down it creaks. I also can feel it in the center stand if I hold it. It seems to be suspension related but not sure why there would be a problem with such low mileage. Also the suspension does work fine and doesn't stick at all just getting the creakin' Help if you can. Thanks Jesse
Most likley the rear shock link bearings or the swing arm bearings. They should not creek with such low miles. The bike may have been underwater a bit. Saw lots of stuff like that after Katrnia. All ballz racing has kits for just about anything. I just rebuilt my dirtbike. WARNING! the shock link bearings are not included in their swing arm bearing kit and that's what was toast on my dirt bike.
:hss: I totally agree your rear suspension should NOT make any noise. Could be swingarm bearings, the needle bearings in the link, or something else. Regardless, have a competent mechanic check it out ASAP. Any part making that sort of noise is probably operating without lubrication, and will rapidly wear out. I love the under water theory, seems like a distinct possibility, but whatever the cause you need to get it fixed.
