Since I bought my second VFR it's been sitting due to lots of work, lots of rain and lots of thoughts. I stole a Mosfet R/R from another project and replaced the antiquated OEM unit. As with my other 06 VFR, no bracket needed as I just use the front bolt hole and stabilize it with the rear one. Then, I got a used Brakeaway throttle lock from a Suzuki at a salvage yard. Some simple refinements and it works! Can't wait to use it. High quality and I love how pulling in the brake deactivates the unit. I also installed my Pro-Tek adjustable lowering link; no pictures. Lastly, there's an old saying where I come from, usually on the back of a t-shirt: "If you can read this, the b*tch fell off!" ... Well in this case, she never got on. A lil' chopping today. Coming soon, the quick-shifter!

I love this bike. I should have never sold the black one...twice! LOL

Well, I went and did it (please don't tell my wife), LOL! I found a new set of Delkevic 8" round carbon mufflers. Stay tuned as the stainless ones shown on the bike along with the down pipe will be for sale in the next week and a half or so. I'll post in the Classifieds.

Quick shifter is installed and programmed. Also installed on-board cameras, front and rear; all of my vehicles have them for good reason because Palm Beach county drivers are insane. And to regain my sanity, a little toast to all VFR owners out there!

Delkevic carbons are on and sounding fantastic as I've come to expect. Took a short ride this weekend, cut short by an FI code which ended up being a speed sensor issue whereas I found the plug came loose and wasn't snapped in correctly. Also took care of the stator and installed a nice set of tank pads. Good weekend overall.

I decided to remove the Corbin seat from the classifieds and dye it all black. As I started to rub it down with denatured alcohol the snakeskin patter just rubbed right off! Weird, but fine with me. Even though it was now solid black, I broke out my leather dye kit (I do work with leather as a hobby) and put a few coats of antique black over it. It looks like new! The piping didn't take the dye, but I'll work on that. I "may" put it back up for sale, but I do like it a lot better now. I also found a really nice neck-mount waterproof phone case that fits my Samsung Galaxy A32 5G absolutely perfectly. Couldn't take a picture of the phone in it, because how would I take the picture? LOL ... Anyway, I just received my RK gold chain, so that's going on either tonight or tomorrow. Looking forward to more road time!

Thanks guys! Yeah, the multi-gray skin coloring was a very personal preference of the previous owner. Not my taste, but could have been someone else's. I should have left the cowl off for the new picture; maybe later. And @bmart , yes I'm in Florida, so technically it should be GATOR skin. LOL

I found an incredible deal on Ebay for a gold RK chain. $70 shipped! To good to be true? Nope. She said the box showed damage but the chain was fine and still sealed in its original pouch. She's been a seller for many years with a stellar rating. Bam! Done deal. Installed it thus morning. Cut a few links off and pressed on the master link. Ain't she pretty?

I was going to cut my side stand down after lowering, but found a good deal on one with better welding than I can do, LOL! Gotta love iron. Anyway, she's leaning again. :D 20230823_175904.jpg 20230823_175846.png

Had the bike out and about for a good 25 miles or so. She's just running beautifully! But now ........... Ah, the Holy Grail of swaps. Found a local shop parting out a VFR and snagged this '06+ tail lamp for $150. There's only a few on Ebay for much more. Since I owned an '06 previously I became accustom to the aesthetics of clear indicators, so trying to get used to having amber lenses was becoming an itch I could not scratch. Some already know, but I'll say it here again - there is a difference in the bulb sockets. It appears I could carve out the housing to make the '05 sockets fit - that would be the cheap way to do it. Otherwise, I'll just order some. I have the front clear signals on order too so I'll need to do four. Anyway, I'm quite happy.

Me being me I decided to go on the cheap (in other words FREE). Honda for some reason decided to make the sockets smaller for the newer "clear" assemblies in the 06+ years. Cost savings? Probably. What I noticed between the two lamp assemblies is that the clear units' plug hole can be expanded right to the edge of the notches to match that of the larger amber unit. Then, simply measure and carve out new notches. So now, my '05 plugs fit right into the new assembly without having to purchase new plugs. The same would apply for the front indicator assemblies, but the ones I'm buying include the plugs. So I probably saved a few bucks, but didn't have to wait.

    This is before:

This is after (you only need to carve out the larger notch directly across from the smaller notch):
