Bikes are staring to roll in......for Biketoberfest, I guess. This one in front of me today. After we turned right, went over the North Bridge onto the North Causeway, at the first light about a mile up he pulled off. Looked like it shut down on him. We were waiting for the light and I left space for him to jump back in front of me. He finally got it started but when he tried to move forward when the light went green it stalled again - so I just went on by.....

I think they're a month early! Make sure it's nice and dry down there for me October 15-18 please :)

This last Saturday was pretty cool for me. I had set a goal of doing the 2 hour endurance race solo at Blackhawk Farms at the beginning of the year. I didn't realize my dad would come down until the morning of, and he was able to be part of my pit crew. One of his jobs was to "catch" me on pit lane during my one pit stop. He's a jumpy guy to begin with, and there's no speed limit on pit road so this was always going to be exciting. As I was speeding toward my pit stall he jumped out of the way certain I wasn't going to stop in time. I just laughed in my helmet it was awesome.

Managed to make the full 2 hours. I was only racing against 1 other bike in my class (18 teams total on track), but I did manage to finish in front of them. Moreso though I proved to myself I could mentally and physically last for 2 hours on the bike. It turned out to be 85 laps on the 1.95 mile course. I'm capable of running my SV650 in the 1:16s--maybe high 1:15s--but I wanted to just try to run 1:20 as long as possible. I put in a really long 70 minute stint to start the race on the 4.5gal tank so I knew I wouldn't have fuel issues at the end if we didn't get the thing packed. The last 45 minutes was playing whackamole with different leg cramps, but I stayed in the 1:20-1:21s almost every lap.

Definitely a special weekend for me with my dad able to be part of it.
