    Hey Por:

I can't tell what kind of tires they are (i.e. street/ track day tires or track day/ race tires).

My outlook on takeoff's is this:

If you know the person who had them and say they had Pilot Powers on their track bike for one or two track days but they didn't like them, well sure that's fine.

Outside of that forget it! You don't know the history and two if they are track/ race tires they will suck on the street in regards to grip. You'd have to ride pretty spirited, all the time, to keep them in the heat range for optimum grip.

The dude dosen't even say what "model" tire.

    Be warned!

I would not. Race tires go thru heat cycles, and the rubber hardens up after so many heat cycles. Not worth it. As bubba stated, you need to get them pretty warm for them to be of good benefit on the street. Stick with street tires...IMO.

Drag racers and Stunters like race take offs because they eat tyres up.

Some members of NESBA : Northeast Sports Bike Association will sell each other takeoffs, but they know each other...

In your situation its a good deal, but bad idea.

    My 2 cents.

Don't do it unless you can tell how many heat cycles they been thru.

Race tires do not go through as many heat cycles as street tires do! I've run race take-offs on my VTR for the past 3-4 years (three different sets) without any problems. Get ones with decent tread and you good to go.
