What is a R/R? I think it's like the voltage regulator in cars, but not sure.. I was wondering if someone could tell me what they are really called, and about how much they cost? I think mine is going out on my bike. Thank you

The R/R is called a regulator/rectifier and it does just that. It regulates the current from the stator to the battery as well as converts it from volts a/c to volts d/c. To check the r/r, go here: http://vfrworld.com/forums/mechanics-garage/7291-dead-battery.html, I just replied to someone else who was having a problem. As for cost, depends on the year of your bike and where you get it from. An OEM can cost from about $160 to a little over $200. I just got one from Ricks Motorsports for $158, $120, plus the cost of overnight shipping. A point of note, some r/r's may cross between other bikes, such as one for a 93 vfr uses the same r/r as a 94 - 98, and alsmy may be the same as the one ona 98/99 blackbird. I know the part number on Ricks site was the same. Good luck and if you have more q's don't hesitate to ask.
