One guy on the SabreMag forum says the VF750 engine and vf1000R are the same cases. He says he put a VF1000R into a VF750 frame.

Are they. Tomorrow I might get to find out.

I don't have an answer, Donald, but I felt bad that you were having a conversation with yourself. Technically, I've just bumped your thread, too, so maybe someone else will chime in.

Today I got the used 1988 Honda Super Magna frame.

The bottom three engine mount bolts look the same on the VF1000R engine
    and the Super Magna frame.
    Measurement with tape measure.

If I go through with the project, I would go for a street tracker, or cafe racer look.

I do know the VF750F & VF1000F are the same cases. I would assume the "R" is also. I do know they dropped the 1000 motors one inch lower in the frame. Not sure how but assume by changing engine mount locations on the frame and not the motor.

I know you can swap in a VF1000F motor into a 750 frame. I've heard but don't know that an "R" engines rear valve cover is a problem for installing a "R" motor in the VF750F frame.

    GreyVF750F,

What you say interests me but it needs some clarification.

    Let me ask you...
You say the VF1000F engine can fit in a 750 frame. Which 750 frame?
The VF 750 sport bike (interceptor)square tube frame, or the vf750c Magna, round tube frame?

You say "they" dropped the engines one inch lower in the frame.
Which frame? The VF65 1100 frame?

BTW the valve cover issue can be overcome.
You notice on some models the rear valve cover is not raised up at all.
It is just to separate the crankcase gases from the oil.
You can just put in a external crankcase oil/air separator.

I have decided to not build the Super Magna street tracker even though I know the engine (vf1000R) engine will fit in the Super Magna frame. I will just sell the Super Magna frame.

I took a ride on the Vf1000R chopper today, and decided to just work on details.
I am going to make a modification the the frame to have better access to the rear cylinder head.

Photo taken today of the chopper.
