    Hey Guys,
New to the forum.. I have owned a 1984 VF500F since I was 15 years old.. It was actually my first street bike.. I have since then owned other standards, sports, and a couple cruisers.. Never got rid of my Interceptor 500 but just added other horses to the herd.. I tried to find the same love with a CBR (no luck) and a couple different ninjas (same results) and just never found it.. Last week I jumped at the opportunity to trade for a, 85 VF700F.. I haven't been able to ride it yet, but I did get it running.. wow! This thing sounds like my 500 on juice.. I'm amped about repair/restoring it and can't wait to ride it. Had to find a couple side covers and a chin scoop fairing.. lucky with the side covers (in the mail to me now) , but not with the chin yet.. also the fuel pump is toast.. think I'll run it gravity feed until I order a fuel pump.. I will be having to paint at some point, not happy about that, just too much sun fade to make me happy.. Good day to you all! Rian

Welcome. I'm giving my old girl a face lift as well. Great story. I am going to buy a 500 for my son as a project and I hope he has the same outlook as you!

I found a lower chin scoop fairing, ordered the fuel pump and now it will be complete.. I hope.. anyone know if the exhaust cans are stainless? the paint looked terrible, so I sanded and wire wheeled, and I uncovered what looks to be beautiful stainless.. I would not expect that they are, but I wish I could leave them naked.. they are gorgeous that way..

I have looked into the possibility of a high temp clear but no luck.. I got the new fuel pump on and DAMN! Not sure I want the cans back on at all.. Sounds like a monster..
