Plastifix Repair Kit

This looks very promising for making new tabs and filling cracks on fairings. Has anyone tried it?

Where did you pick up the plastic welder?

 

I ended up using an equivalent product called Plastex and it worked well. I molded and made two tabs with it. I think with more practice I could do it as well as the guys in the video. End result was good and functional. I thought I followed up on this thread because I did take pictures. I will have to look for them.

I paid about $30 I believe and got enough to build lots of tabs, fill/repair some cracks, etc.

 

Well after thinking about it I figured screw it. I just decided to order the Urethane Supply plastic welder.
It looks a lot better quality than any harbor freight versions and even ones up to it's price range. Hopefully I'll get to use it in the next few days and see how it works out.

 

I got the iron type fron harbor frieght as well and a bag of plastic welding rods ... mine worked great. I used it to rebiuld the tabs on the rear fairing as well as filling in the cracks on the side fairings...I also used it to form the edges of the faring that were broken. worked like a champ.. my problem with it was that I pushed on it to hard and started to bend the iron....:shock: it still works just can't (or supposed to) put that much pressure on it.
