Well, road out to ShawneeHonda Saturday on my HarleyDavidson street glide I purchased in sept '08. With the entention to trade. Was thinking GoldWing but rode home on a used '10 VFR 1200f. Had stopped by the dealer last Thursday to look at the Wings. Talked to a salesman and then with the owner, who I know on a buisness level. Briefly glanced at the VFR and left. Spent some time on the Honda web site reading up on the wing and couldn't resist checking out the VFR page. I was sold! The dealer had two new ones and a dead mint used one with 1003 miles on it, center stand and a pipe. Got there first thing with some friends of mine, one on a Wing and the other on an HD UltraClassic. Road away a couple of hours later on the VFR. Wow, what have I been missing out on? This is not my first sport bike! Started riding in SoCal in my late teens, cafe style CB700, CB750 and VF500. Moved to Oklahoma in '91 and didn't ride for ten years. Roads to straight here and around OKC. Got the itch again in 2001, stopped by Maxies Honda and purchased a new RC51. did a few trackdays, hauled it out to SoCal, road with my friends, poped in to say hay to Ed & Vern. 2002 traded it in for an '02 RC51. '03 purchased a Ducati 999 which I converted to the FILA replica. Meanwhile, the one thing I was hooked on was the track days and eventually joined the CMRA, only to purchase an HRC loaded F3 600 and ended a three year run on an SV650. My wife at the time liked to ride and it became a hassle on the sport bikes. Back to Maxies again to get an '04 Warrior. With to many bikes in the barn, the exspence of racing and the new "crowd" we started riding with, doing poker runs etc.. Sold everything, quit racing, and purchased a BigDog Masstiff. Wow, what a short lived thrill after 6000 miles of poor performance due to an intake leak. Ended up with a new motor, think it rained for seven weeks straight, took it up to a car dealer and traded in for an Avalanche. Sept '08 enter the Harley, sooped it up with cam and pipe etc... My buddies called me the HD sport bike rider from hell as I road it like any other bike, fast and hard into the corners leaving steel, aluminum, plastic and boot rubber on the pavement. Crap, sorry for the long interduction. I'm all fired up on this VFR 1200f and will post my newest expeiences riding back up right, foreward in the saddle again. LTR
Welcome to the site. I particularly take a shine to trouble-shooting/problem solving resources. Also like to see images of other folks VFR'S. Don't forget to view bike specific info as well. You and I have something in common.....we both purchaced our VFR's from Shawnee Honda! Got my 07 RWB (new) there last August. I highly reccomend a ride to SW Colorado on your new bike before the season ends. Bevo14.
