Hi all, those of you that saw my post in the intro section will know I bought my RC24 '87(or thereabouts) recently for a trip. Naturally it let me down with the dreaded reg/rec issue. Long story short, swapped the reg/rec for a new one, then decided stator was toast too, so swapped that for a new one. Finally got her run up and new reg/rec was faulty! Damn! Phoned supplier and luckily the guy was in a good mood and they sent me a new one. They don't usually once you've fitted it. Anyway, new one arrived this morning and result, nice steady charge and the unit isn't overheating. I do plan to replace much of the wiring in the near future to hopefully avoid any further issues. But, now the oil pressure switch has packed up. Bulb is fine, ignition on and ground the wire, the light comes on. Removed the switch, stuck a thin rod up inside it to make sure it wasn't seized, and there is a little movement. But even with a new connector on the end of the wire at the switch, I don't get the warning light on. But touch the end of that wire to earth and the light is nice and bright. So, the switch is definitely u/s, but, question is, where is the best place to buy a replacement in the UK? Prices seem a bit varied, and I definitely don't want some cheap knock-off that isn't accurate. So far looking around the reputable dealers, Wemoto want £56.53, Fowlers £66.60, David Silver £55.20. Those last two might also be plus postage. Any thoughts, is that as cheap as I'm likely to find? Cheers, Tony.
