Having a look around and the pipes from the oil cooler look shot to me. What do you think, immediate replacement?

I'd start ordering those as soon as possible, but I would still ride it like that.

Do you think? I'm a bit paranoid of a big splurge from a burst pipe. Is this a known issue on these, bikes only done 22k?

I just got done looking and cleaning mine about an hour ago on my new to me 2003....mine looks the same...except...yours seems be more bubbled...not good....I am going to apply a special hi end paint that bonds to rust and stops it permanetly....you could try aggressively cleaning yours with wire brush/sand paper....if it leaks, replace the lines.....though.. I would simply replace yours...Its not an issue.....just never been wiped/cleaned/polished... in a vulnerable position ....poor maint from po

Counter Measure> ? Sounds mysterious and chit. Winter plays havoc on that stuff, partically interesting in that link ^ was that galvonic corrosion was the culprit. Pretty nasty stuff, good pictures and keep us posted how you solve the problem! I always wiped/lubed my fork tubes after every ride btw when I was up North.

You could always take a razor blade to that corrosion and see how bad it is with the intention of replacing those lines. Sometimes you dont know how bad it is unless you dig a little deeper. Unfortunatly, sometimes you find oot your "up chits creek-without a paddle." Cheers

Thanks guys, that recall is interesting, my frame no is outside that range. I'll order up new pipes and just be careful to keep everything good and clean in there.
