All brands are OK if they meet the specifications listed in your owner's manual. Motorcycle-specific (not car oil) is best to use.

Can't go wrong with the Honda branded oil from your local shop. I run Rotella T in my fzr.

For stir fry, I like peanut - Lou Ana
For hash browns, I like vegetable - Wesson.
For fries, I like corn - Crisco.

    You favorite brands might vary.

Pure synthetics, Amsoil or Mobil 1, from lubrication engineer, note "automotive use", no friction modifiers, either in oil or added.

PS: Don't be fooled like I was by labels that say "Synthetic" when they are "Synthetic Blends", not that they are bad, just Amsoil is better, for the money.

Usually use Motul 10/40 7100 Synth if I have some money in my saving account or 5100 Semi Synth if not. I believe my VFR runs a little sweeter on the 7100.

or if you like to baby your girl or you take her to the track Amsoil or Motul 7100/ 300V Factory Line Road Racing

Spanish olive oil is best for salads.
On your bike, it doesn't really matter as long as you change it regularly, and use a minimum of 10W40.
Keep away from el cheapo's, and only motorcycle specific.

This is a great question, and I will agree with Allyance on the misleading "Synthetic Blend" oils and their respective markups in pricing. I personally really like Torco T4 petroleum based oil ($9.90) but their full synthetic T4SR is $20.00 per liter, which is quite up there. Motul 7100 is an excellent oil as well and full synthetic, which is much more reasonably priced, both of the previous oils require a local distributor in your area, or you can order it online but will pay for shipping, increasing the cost per liter. Mobil One 4T full synthetic is the fall back at Walmart for $9.99.

Just changed oil with Amsoil. They have a discount program, with tax, shipping and a $10 fee on first order, it came to $13.67/qt. Next order it will be $11.67/qt.

Castrol rt HP, 2 qts 10-50, 1.3qts 10-40-runs really good. 10-50 adds more heat protection then a 10-40. Yeas you can mix syn oil of the same brand.

So this is probably as subjective as the brand question, but what kind of mileage intervals are you all using between oil/filter changes? I realize I could do a search, but I'm here now:hss:

It's not really that big a secret. I learned it from watching nearly 800 Oprah re-runs. Don't ask which one..
