    DERSTUKA once again grasshopper tries to grab the pebble from the masters hand...elevation octane humidity all are a component or a demize of horsepower in engines...(bows looking into eyes)

    Elf, what in tarnation are you talking about? You went off on another tangent. Let me post question/curiosity that you posted earlier.

    This is what I was responding to. You did not know where below 86 octane is sold and informed you that in higher elevation areas/states it is sold. As far as horsepower loss in an engine, that is another question altogether and there are many other factors than what you mentioned.

    your getting it light check out the +25 d-boost and stretch thread i got busted up hard but just have to remember every one got there on opinion and most of it in fun

    The sticker under the seat of my 500 calls for 91 research octane number.

    RON is higher than Motor octane number (Gas stations in the US are designated by an average of RON and MON). Technically my bike could accept 87 and run plenty happy, but I just opt for the 91 for the sake of better safe than sorry, even if it's just a placebo effect.
