Hey everybody, I had a snow day today so I decided to strip the fairings on my new to me VFR and change the oil. While I was at it I decided to check the O2 sensors to see if they were blocked, since the previous owner had a PC3 installed. I was curious because on my test ride, the v tec kick was still very harsh and I heard the power commander was supposed to mostly fix that issue. So here is what I found.

This is a 2005 VFR 800 ABS model

It looks like he only blocked off the black lead to me. So if I unplug the clear plug that's resting between my middle finger and pointer finger in the pic above, and put a 330 ohm resistor into the right pins, I should be able to fix the problem right?

This is what I did to mine using the 300ohm resistors. Pic borrowed from the other guys.

Yea I actually used the forum post that picture was from to find the O2 sensors. I couldn't find them where they where shown there though. Mine where lower on the engine. I guess I will go ahead and order some resistors and see if the problem is fixed after I install them.

You can get them at Radio Shack or similar. $2 for a 5 pack.

the white has a termonating resistor built into the sensor. What was done is fine when connecting to the catbox on the exhaust.
If the fly leads and sensors are removed then you have to trace the leads back to the rubber bell cover as shown in the borrowed picture and terminate with two 330ohm 44w resistors. If you search my posts you'll see that I did this recently when changing to a set of Delkevic headers.

44W???? Those will be huge :peaceful:

Normally 0,5 to 1 Watt is more then enough, there is hardly any current flowing.

Thanks everybody, I ended up just unplugging both the black and clear plugs in the pic I showed and put a 1/4 W 330 ohm resister in each one like in the guide mentioned above. No lights on the dash, and my vtec kick seems smoother than the first time I rode it, but if the plug setup he had was fine, maybe my bike just wasn't warmed up properly my first run. Thank again.
