Norcalboy, is there a write up somewhere to go with this pic?

I done a search, but there is just so many matches, and I don't even know if I am using the right key words and what time frame to look at. Thought you might be able to find it quicker/easier. Don't want to just start ripping stuff off, and then go, "Oh, wait, that doesn't look exactly like the part in the picture..."

some other questions now that I have started to do this.
What is the object right above the canister in your pic? Kind of rectangular shpaed and looks like it has a zip tie attached to it. Hard to really see what it is in the pic.

The hose second in from the left, where did that come from?

There is a hose, vent hose that runs from the gas tank to the canister. What did you do with that hose, just hang it out the bottom of the bike?

The other hose that runs from the right side of the canister, runs to some electronic part on the right frame. It looks like you romoved that hose as well, correct? But that electronic gizmo it routed to is not in your photo. What did you do with that? Just plug where the hose plugged in? or leave it open? or ?????

Hey Guys; Can you clarify what year bike the "smog stuff" is from? Also is the canister that is shown in the picture from a Calif. bike only, or were they used in mass that year?
    thanks

I assume you are talking about the evap purge control valve....this valve can be left in place and disconnected from the ECM by removing the plug, or you can remove everything and plug the fitting on the throttle body.

All 6th gen's are 50 state smog legal, don't know about the others.
