    Hi everyone, I'm Chris I have an 07 vfr. I was riding yesterday and found that the speedometer on the bike is off by about 8%. is this common? The bike reads 60 mph at the same time the gps reads 56 mph. I will get a pic up soon. thanks guys

    This is common. Most speedos read 'optimistic' by 5-10% or so. I believe it is a liability thing. My brother has an ex-police bike with a certified speedo, but standard issue is optimistic.

    Hello and welcome to the forum. Wherebouts you located? Yes, it is common to have speedometer error on a bike. around 8% sound pretty normal.

    Thanks for having me, I live in Summerville SC, this is 20 miles or so from Charleston . If any of you guys live close let me know. There is a bike show tonight at the Wing place on Redbank Rd. in Goose Creek, if any of you are close I will see you there. It starts around 7:00 , and it is 90% "Rice-burners".
