Newbie from the North

It's my third day with the bike, first day on the site. I am a proud new owner of a '91 VFR. I look forward to lots of good reading and info.

Welcome, The last couple of days was probably a big tease for you. Did you get out on the new bike? I know today winter has returned to your area.

Where at in Minnesota? Last summer I rode the north shore of Lake Superior from Duluth to the border.

Yep, the last few days was a treat and a disappointment. I would appear that Winter has decided to return for awhile; we'll see how long it lasts. I bought a sled to make things warm up; a new bike to make it snow??

I was tempted to ride it, but there were areas where it was like a skating rink and sand, sand, sand.

I am in Dakota, MN which is right on the Mississippi. I am planning a trip up to Crane Lake, MN this summer.

You are in some great riding country. I was in your area last August. I rode from Chicago on county roads to Prairie Du Chein and followed the Mississippi through La Crosse up to MSP and up the St. Croix to Duluth. Then North Shore of Lake Superior and back home through North and Central Wisconsin. My favorite areas are the Coullee's across the river from you! I bet your local Honda dealer is Two Bro's in Onalaska!

Welcome to the site. Where's the pix? I grew up, and I use that phrase rather loosely, in Winnipeg. One of the guys I went to high school with rode a bike most of the winter there including a several mile ride on the highway. But I think he was dropped a few times as a baby by his old man if you get my drift.

 

Ahhh yes.... just sitting on it and pitching it side to side, ( motor noises ) In my shop. I am recovering the seat. Pics. when she's all done.

 

It's a beautiful bike. 30k miles, Givi bags and screen. Last 'similar' bike that I had was a 2003 Suzuki Bandit 1200S. I traded off my CRF 230M even up, and nabbed the VFR. The weather was pretty mild when I picked her up, but I wussed out on a ride.:embarassed:

 

Welcome! Been planning a trip around the great lakes through MN. Nice roads around there.
