I've been a VFR lover since 1988 when I purchased my first one a VF500A Interceptor. I moved to Japan in 1989 and had a VFR250R while I was there (Very unique MC). I moved back to the USA in 1993 and didn't own a bike again until last year (2008). I have always loved the VFR lineup, especially when it went single-sided swingarm. I found a very well kept used 2005 VFR800 with about $3000 in accessories in June 2008 for a reasonable price. I bought it on first site and have resumed riding the roads.

Loves about this bike: Looks, comfort
Dislikes about this bike: Low end torque is sensitive (1st gear is way to sensitive...either no power or too much), VTEC is quirky at times.

If anyone has some suggestions about improvements about my bike, I would appreciate it!

Welcome aboard. The Power Commander seems to to be popular for the throttle issues.

Welcome Razor, I got rid of your issue simply by removing the O2 sensors but like stated above the PCIII should clean that up as well which you will also have to remove the sensor for.

You mentioned your bike had a bunch of mods when ya got. Is there by any chance a PCIII under your seat?

I wish. I've looked at the Power Commander USB adverts, but is it worth it? And is it hard to self-install?

    The mods on it are:
Two Brothers Racing V.A.L.E. M-2 Slip-On Exhausts (Aluminum).
    BMW Heated Grips
    GIVI Rear Case
    Sargeant Custom Seat
    Windscreen with adjustable Wind Deflector
AC Power and DC Heated Vest Adaptor
Not sure of the names but upgraded Gears and Sprockets
    Scorpio Theft Protection Alarm
    K&N Hi-Performance Air Filter

They all looked good to me but I've been out of the MC scene for a few years so please let me know if some of these need to be changed with something better. Thanks in advance!

On a Side Note: Took a 400+ mile ride today and mostly enjoyed it all. My ass isn't used to these long rides

Since your exhaust and air filter have been done I'm sure the PCIII will help. You may need to look for a map for your specific setup or invest in the dyno runs to have it dialed in correctly though.
