I'll take this moment to say both say hello to all and ask a question. I had to good fortune to be invited by Honda to test ride this bike in last April in Santa Barbara, Ca. I was blown away with both the manual and DCT models. Make a long story short, I pick up may new DCT model this week. I live in North Carolina and have been riding on and off for over 30 years. I now know what VFR owners are talking about and look forward to joining you. Are there any 1200FD owners out there that can offer me suggestions for break-in period? The engine is a little rough and the there seems to be some vibration in the drive train between 2-3 but it only has 122 miles on it and I expect these things to smooth out in a few hundred miles. Thanks and again nice to be a part of this forum.

    mark it 8, dude
    congrats on the new ride!

unfortunately, big red requires that a manual clutch system be installed for the first 2,00 miles in the DCT to get a "proper" breakin. it can then be later removed to allow the DCT to be utilized as designed.

but seriously, get that thing scuffed-in before the SE-G2G in late april at kickstand lodge in NC, and then join us there for a few days of great riding, cold beers, tall tales and even bigger lies, and general VFR goodness.

search southeast G2G or SE "get to gether" for a link to all the details

I'll call the dealer tomorrow about having that manual added... this oversight will not go unmentioned in their customer survey= ;-)

C U on the road and thanks for the welcome.

I think we did. Do you still have the email address for George (Semler?) the marketing guy from Torrence. I'd like to send him a picture. I LOVE this bike!!!
