I just struck a deal on a 10' VFR1200 DCT. I've been lurking for a couple weeks as a tried to make up my mind on keeping my 12' Aprilia Tuono vs picking up the VFR. In the end the desire for something more sport touring oriented won out and I can't wait to pick her up on Friday.

My new bike did have a couple mods. Adjustable pegs, Puig screen, Jardine exhaust. I'd have gone with a different exhaust but it did sound good so I'll leave it alone for now. Are their any other must haves? I do live close to Don Gruhl so I'll be checking out his ECU tune.

Close to Don? Where in Pennsylvania are you? I'm in Maryland but spend all my time in Pa on the back roads. Delmarva and Ocean City bike rallies are this weekend. Welcome to the board.

Did you consider non-DCT or were you married to DCT?

Congratulations. The 1200 makes me want to trade mine and upgrade. Awesome engine, awesome bike.

Congrats on the bike! The 7th gen is a wonderful beast. As for any "must-haves" I would venture to say that it is the same for any bike. Suspension no matter what, luggage if you want to tour and maybe a fuse block. I want to get that ECU flash, but I need to save my pennies.

The only 1200 that was close to me had the DCT and I liked it when I did the test ride. From there I was sold on trying something new.

One thing that I did miss from the Tuono where the higher bars so u just ordered the LSL conversion kit. I'll post up some details once I get it.

Here are some pics from my first real ride this weekend.

She's a beaut, no doubt. I would love to ride the DCT, but there were none around me at the time I was looking.
