Hello Everyone I recently purchased my first VFR, I have always been a Honda person with the exception of a couple of slip ups. My first bike was a 1987 Hurricane, then moved on to an F3, (one of my regrettable slips was): a 2001 Yamaha R1, learned my lesson and bought a 2006 CBR 1000RR, a 2007 Harley Davidson Street Glide, and finally a 2010 VFR 1200 DCT. The reason for the DCT is I have a disability from a crash on the CBR 1000RR and have lost the ability to use my left foot. The DCT is perfect for me, and any doubters out there really need to ride either the F model or the DCT. I have to say not to many liter bikes out there can pull away from it. Only problem I have is that I cannot find any aftermarket parts, namely a fender eliminator to get rid of the mullet. Any help out there for after martket parts for the new machine please advise. Thanks for reading
hey congrats and welcome to the madness I modded the stock plate set up on my 6th gen and cost nada. If you take a look at your set up I'm sure you can do the same. If you need help toss a pic up and lets see what you got and what can be done to mod it.
Congrats on the purchase! You dont have to justify the DCT even though you have a great reason for owning one. I was just looking at the 2010 last week and see that the fender is very integrated into the rear of the bike. It looks almost impossible to remove it except to start cutting which would be hard to do on a $17,000 bike! the key for the seat removal is right there over the fender as well so unless there is an aftermarket solution i cant see how a clean removal of the fender can be done within major fabrication. If you are offering any "doubters" to ride your bike I will volunteer myself for duty... I do live just up the freeway from you. I would give the masses a honest review of the bike after a 1,000 mile test ride and give a fair comparison to the 6th gen bike. Anyway, welcome to the site! :welcome:
Welcome aboard. Good on ya for keepin' with it. It may be a bit before someone starts producing aftermarket parts, I am afraid.
