Hello all, hope all is well. I posted in VFRdiscussion a week or so ago but it appears that site has effectively gone the way of the Library of Alexandria. Sad times indeed…

In any case I’ve owned my 2014 VFR800 for a little over a month and I’ve been loving it having moved up from a Yamaha FZ6. The VFR just has that sense of class that most bikes can’t match and for the price I got it for I genuinely cannot complain especially given its in great shape mechanically.

That being said, I’m looking for some information on some things I would like to do to improve my ownership experience.

Primarily, panniers and what my options are. It appears the available options are limited if not nonexistent when it comes to this generation of VFR. If anyone has any leads on where I can get the Givi pannier racks (or better yet the OEM cases, as I understand the 7th gen cases might work too?) please let me know. The lack of easily obtainable luggage options is the only thing that has kind of bummed me out about the bike (maybe my last bike spoiled me as I was able to get Givi racks and panniers fairly easily).

And then there’s the coveted quick-shifter. Obviously unobtanium but are there any potential issues I should be aware of with trying the MacGyver solutions that people have come up with using modules and parts off other bikes?

Any and all help and/or advice is appreciated. I intend to own this bike for a long time.
