Hi, finally got my VFR! I have wanted one ever since the 1986 came out. I just purchased a 1986 VFR750F with 25,000 miles. It needs some work, but the price was right. The bike runs great and still has the stock pipes that are pretty nice. Unfortunately it needs every piece of fairing/cowling! I don't think the bike has ever been down hard, just the usual slow speed tips that scratch every corner. Tires are brand new, gauges are nice, and the tank is actually pretty nice. The choke cable just broke so I need one of those and a chain and sprockets. I think I will just drive it the rest of this year and then restore it this winter. I was a Honda certified mechanic for 10 years until I got out of the industry. This is the first VFR that I have owned, but not the first I have driven. I live in West Fargo, ND and do a lot of fishing. Anyway, love the site and I am sure I will be here often looking for parts and helpful info. Thanks, Al.
55 fishes! Sweet. My best was somewhere in the 100 range for a day. Smallmouth out of Lake Ontario, but nothing bigger than 3lbs? I did land 14 striped Marlin in one day while in Cabo. I have yet to head west. Would love to wet a fly somewhere in Montana, ND, etc. Fishing is definitely my thing. Anyway... Congrats on your purchase. Glad you were able to secure the bike you always wanted, and I'm sure with your winters, you'll have plenty of time to spruce her up. One other thing:
