    Hello VFRWorld!

I acquired an 87 VFR700F2 doesn't run right (yet). Has 62000 miles, cracked plastics, hacked exhaust (note u-clamps) Going to try and do a compression test and leak down test the engine today, before I start ordering anything.

Pulled the carbs, has one broken plastic fuel tube (note the brass) going to strip and blast them and carb dip. I'm sure it needs a valve adjustment. Chain/sprockets, fork work, etc.

Has a K&N filter and F1r mufflers (might get a DJ kit).

Welcome aboard. Sounds like you have your plans all laid out. Good luck - we all like seeing an old girl brought back to her former glory.

Hopefully the plan comes together.... Just finished up on a 88 Katana, have CB700sc ripped apart (waiting to paint) and now this lol. I will keep you guys updated (prob start a new thread in the correct area) It did run before removing carbs but could tell it has its share of issues. I think the F1r is slip-ons that most likely need to be repacked, not sure if the K&N is leaning it too much without jetting and the valve adjustment. I didn't get to play with it today, but will post my findings on compression and leak down.

    Shes waiting

Sometime has passed but finally getting back to working on the VFR. Valve adjustment was good, just finished up on the carbs (glass blasted and dipped) installed DJ kit. Picked up some new plugs and going to hook a remote tank up and fire the old girl this weekend.
