Hi all, I know this is short notice but what the hey....

First a little background... I have owned several motorcycles (Currently ride an 87 Goldwing Interstate) and I ride a lot... well as much as I can here in Maine. The point is, I have experience. I have owned a couple wings, some standards, a couple HD's but never a "sport" bike....

When I was shopping for my last bike, I wanted an Inteceptor setup as a sport touring, but could not find one but got a great deal on my wing. Well, I just got rid of a couple of guns (Toy equity... no bank account for me, just guns....) anyway I sold some stuff and have been looking for a project.

I found a 1986 VFR700F with 12K miles but needs costmetic work... $600... Like I said, the guy said I can start it and drive it around the lot but it needs a back tire, and is not legal at this point. But, like I said I am looking for a project too...

But not too big of a project.

What should I look for in lines of damage or other problems... the front left fairing is cracked, and all of the plastic looks 25 years old and I am looking forward to buying and having replacements painted (The project part) but I do not want to get something that will be over my head.

Any suggestions? I love Honda's and absolutley love the look of this bike... just looking for advice or encouregment :)

    Welcome to site.

There will be some that will jump on this thread soon enough to give you opinions. I don't have anything knowledgeable to post.
