    Hi all,
new member here from southern Ireland. Just picked up my '96 VFR750 a few days ago and have already found the site to be very helpful.

A few pics attached, the first is as I got it...

    Cheers for the welcomes.

crustyrider, its sort of tradition for me to strip a newly purchased bike - just so you know what's what and if anything needs fixing. Turns out the bike is originally from America and somehow found its way to Ireland!

My main concern was to investigate the condition of the exhaust system and the general corrosion from being laid up for several years. You can see some of the corrosion on the engine casing (the little white specs). If I didn't tackle it now, it would quickly get very bad. Thankfully the exhaust system is in great condition. Very light surface rust was easily sanded and treated. I'll give it a new coat of heat paint over the weekend.

Other things on the to do list - grease the head bearings, change the fork oil, grease the rear linkage, strip the rear wheel hub and to change the brake lines for new stainless steel. Still on original hoses!

Overall it's in great condition and I'm looking forward to putting it back together and to start using it!
