This is the 3rd VF ive bought. This time I bought a new one! 2010VFR. I only have 150 miles on it so far, so I cannot really say how great or wonderful it is. My prior VF was a dinosaur, but i loved it. 85 VF1100s Sabre. I got rid of it in 2001 after a good friend of mine was killed in an accident. (Just lost the desire to ride) It sat in the garage and suffered lot rot for 4 years. Once I decided to Get back in the saddle I decided to Get a Z750 (yes i know wrong Manufacturer) I liked the bike, had great power but not very "Comfy" for long trips. So in 2007 I really Stepped up to the Plate, and bought a 2006 ZX14. That is an absolute rocket. Ive been riding it for 6 years, and put 25K on it. Ive rode it from missouri to Denver, And to New Jersey, and to Atlanta, and to Orlando, and to Arkansas. (Get the drift? I Love Long road trips) so the bike has been fine for long trips. Ive done a ton of work to it. Not just looks... But a lot of performance tricks. I put some Black Chrome rims on it this year, but the guy that chromed them apparently knows nothing about tape. I spent a week just trying to get all the hardened chrome out of the races. I must have not got it all. Im fixing to put my 3rd set of bearings in it and try and get it right. In the mean time. Ive decided to get a newer bike that I can continue to ride for long trips, and just maintain the Weekend Warrior White Phantom for in town. Anyone here that has any suggestions, tricks please feel free to share them with me. Ill post pix as I get it all settled in and broke in. Thanx for reading my long drawn out boaring post...... Cheers!
Welcome, new guy! The VFR1200 is a whole new level of refinement in comparison to the ZX-14. - I like Kawasaki but their bikes always feel a little...industrial...I guess would be the right word. I came to a VFR from a Hayabusa, BTW. I miss the power but the VFR is a better-built bike, for sure.
Welcome aboard. If you don't put up any pics of your bike, then you'll need to at least post some of scantily clad women. As far as "suggestions and tricks", I'd say go and read this thread below. I don't have the latest VFR, but I find this write up to be a wealth of info. http://vfrworld.com/forums/7th-generation-2010-present/37405-1-year-later-review.html
