    Hello everybody,

This is the first sportbike forum that I have ever joined. Looking forward to some good interaction. For my first post I was wondering if anyone knew the MPH range of each gear on a 2002 Honda VFR? Meaning what is the max MPH of each gear where the bike is at its optimal power band.

Pharoh... I'm just guessing from your question, but are looking to find out when is the best point to shift to the next gear where you'll keep the engine in the engine's powerband? If that's the case, you'd want to watch the tachometer since the engine will be making the most power at the same rpm (revolution per minute). Then you only have to remember one number for all the gears and the tach is the big gauge in the middle :-0 plus it is analog and easy to see with your peripheral vision... don't want you staring a the speedometer when it says 120mph and the truck moves into your lane.

Thanks for the response Nozzle. I actually shift by sound. What I was actually looking for was the max speed per gear. For example:

    1st gear 0 – 10 mph
    2nd gear 10 – 25 mph
    3rd gear “ “
    4th gear “ “
    5th gear “ “
    6th gear “ “

I haven’t seen any such info and was wondering if anyone knew.
