    Hello all

I am new to the VFR style of bike. I just bought an 86 VFR 700. I paid little to nothing for it. It needed a new front tire, and some cosmetic work. The seat panel was cracked by the tail light which I tried to find one with no luck. I just repaired it myself. I do need most of the screws that hold all of the body panels, and wind screen on. Any idea where I can get a set, and not have to order one at a time.

    Joe

Welcome to the group, jo-jo. As for finding screws fo rthe body panels, you might try BikeBandit.com or Service Honda.com

You might try BikeBandit.com... they've got schematics for my bike (95 VFR750) and I've always had good experiences with them.

I am running zip ties now. I just want to replace them. Any suggestions on things I should do right off. I know I need an oil change, and I have the stuff to do it. I have also replaced the front brake pads. The bike has 36K for miles. There is a ticking sound that follows the RPM's, I am still not sure if its the valves or the timing.

I am loving the sound, toque and how the bike handles. I have never had a V4, might stay with it.

Is your bike the '86 VFR700F or VFR700F2?

Here's the path to BikeBandit's site:

1986 Honda Motorcycle Parts for VFR700F INTERCEPTOR, OEM and Aftermarket at BikeBandit.com

You can view the schematics and scroll down the page to see if they have the specified bolts/screws that you need. You might give your local Honda dealer a call - their parts folks are usually pretty good at cross-referencing parts from various bikes that might work on yours. I don't know anywhere that you can buy a set of bolts for fairings...

Ticking sound usually indicates valves require adjusting.
