My original RK chain gave me 21,000 miles of good service, so I chose an RK for replacement. The new chain has only 3000 miles and is rusting badly!!! My original never did this. I clean the chain about every 800 miles with kerosene and lube with PJ-1 Blue Label. Did the same with the original and it never rusted.

Anyone else ever have this problem with a new RK chain?? I emailed RK and am hoping they will stand behind their product. Chain supposedly has a 20,000 mile service warranty.

doesn't sound right to me but I've never had an RK chain (that I know of). I'm still using the stock chain with over 45000 miles (unless one of the previous owners changed it) and am just starting to see little signs of wear. Let me know what you find out as it might influence what I replace with.
