So I usually ride in pair of Doc Martens I've had for a while, I finally picked up a pair of actual riding boots (Sedici Masono's or something from cyclegear) and I took them for a ride last night.

It seems that the boot has a really hard time fitting under the shifter, and it felt really weird shifting. Like I couldn't pull my toe up enough to shift, I really had to bang it. Is there a way to adjust the shifter height on the VFR? My 919 had a linkage, but I see the VFR doesn't

Or will I just get used to the feel of the new boot? I'm a little worried because I have a track day tomorrow.

There is a little dot on your shift lever that matches up to a dot on your shift shaft. These usually line up, in your case, you could try removing the bolt and remove and re-position the shift lever higher so that your canoe can fit between the foot peg and the shift lever.

You will get use to it, like rider said adjustment might help. It does not work for me cause now the first gear would be too far up.

Adjust the lever, one bolt, pull it off and re-clock it. I had to do this when I put on lowering peg adpaters. No ill effects afterwards.

I bought some Sidi In Road boots and had to do the same thing. Remove the bolt holding the shift lever on the shaft, raise it up one notch, re-install bolt.

This is one thing that I cannot get just perfect on this VFR. The shifter is too high where it currently is, but if I move it down one spline then it's uncomfortably low. I wish there were some aftermarket shifter that offered a more fine adjustment.
