I am a new owner of a vf1000f and and looking to restore it as well as I can. It runs and needs lots of brake work and the tank is shot. Maybe someone on here would be good enough to help me.

Welcome to the forum flatlander! Do you have a picture of your new baby? Parts for 20+ year old bikes are not getting any easier to come by. E-bay, Craigslist, and putting an ad on VFWorld buying and selling forum (along with VFRD) would be a good place to start.

Welcome to the group, flatlander. I agree with what derstuka said. Finding parts may prove difficult on a machine of that age. You just have to look everywhere, and I mean everywhere. Make posts in Buying and Selling for "Wanted to Buy" (WTB) parts and for parts you need that someone may be selling. If you persevere, you will be successful in restoring it to glory. Post some pics too. We love pictures.

Welcome. I've got some extra front and rear calipers, extra front wheel and some other misc parts if you're interested, send me a PM. Mine needs a new engine case...When you say the tank is shot, do you mean internal rust or banged up?
