I have had my 03 VFR for about 3 months now, I have owned 3 other bikes, never had been much more the a commuter rider. I always wondered if I could do a longer ride but never had the time.
Well yesterday I made the trip from Indianapolis, IN to Dayton, OH only about 100 mile each way, but I will have to say the VFR was a dream to ride.
No prolems really, the only issue I had was my fingers on my right had got numb every now and again, other that that I was very pleased with the comfort, and I will be make that trip again soon. Its really nice to have a bike that I have the confidence to ride 100 miles plus.

So far I really love this bike!!

You could look at getting some grips that have better vibration isolation to help your hand, or look at your posture on the bike. Maybe you could benefit from some risers.

Glad you had a good ride and love your bike. That is great to hear.

Aye, at 6'1 i found the vfr great,
just relax and let your body take the wieght instead of your arms and that should help your wrist.

another thing for much longer rides is a cruise control device so you can take your hand off and flex it a bit.

Ain't it great to find out that you can go somewhere other than just around town though? Being able to say to yourself that you can get on your bike and ride 100, 200, 500, or whatever miles from home opens a whole new vista of possibilities.

I rode to Dayton a couple of weeks ago, and it was a great trip. Two years ago I never would have even considered it but now it's just up the road a little bit.

Yes it was really nice to be able to ride that long. I never attempted a longish ride on my last bike (Kaw ZR7 naked sport bike) not the most comfortable ride, and only a 5 speed. I was very inpressed running 85 (78) with no problems, could not really hear the engine (stock exhaust)

My only problem with the trip was a little rain about 10 miles from home.

Thanks for the wealth of information on this site, I look foward to maybe getting to know some of you better.

    Thanks again!
