Well, at least the ones on the mirrors. Any way to find new ones or options for mirror replacements?

The stalk may just need to be gently massaged?

Mounting holes are 40mm on 6 Gen but 50mm on 5 Gen.

I used the ones off a later model for mine, but don't remember what year. Seemed like it was a 2000 or a 2001. Pricey, but looked a lot better.

FJ, you have that right, '00 and '01 OEM mirrors are condomless and have the same mounting points as the '98 and '99 condom mirrors...

Gone all natural, condoms are off. Now if only I could remember what version mirrors I had before hand, but for now, these will have to do.

thx1138. Have you noticed if one mirror is high or lower than the other? just was looking at my install and the right mirror is 1/2inch or 12.5 mm lower, trick here is which one is off.

No, they both look even on mine.
Mind you, I was not really looking for evenness. One often hangs lower than the other in mirrors as in many other things.

You know I thought that for a sec, so went back and put the condoms back on, I was pretty sure they are even I would have noticed that, but to make sure I double checked. Yep they're good, so back to these. Now mind you I got these off an ebay bike dismantling site, for the price it was worth it, they aren't bad. But now that my eyes have seen what it is, my OCD is kicking in. So in taking them apart I find that they are Emgos (*&^$ knock offs SMH, then further looking I find one has more washers than the other one, so time to fiddle while I wait for the FED X truck.

Practicing safe riding was a bigger thing back then. The roads were dirtier and who knew what your mirrors would contract...I heard some of that stuff could lead to a droopy mirror...
